In 2007, the idea for an eco-friendly clothing line was first born, while I was still pregnant with my daughter. The journey from birth of a business to where we are now, has been full of joy, challenges and many lessons learned. TAKING BABY STEPS:

I thought about how Golden Curly Tail is like a baby right now. We’re taking little steps towards our goal each day, and aiming to reach more and more people each day.

Although, my son has not started to take any steps yet, he did reach a new milestone this week. He was able to completely turn his body over without getting his hand stuck in the process. He will be starting solids tomorrow.

MOMMY ENTREPRENUER:

Most days, I struggle with finding balance between working on the business and spending that quality time with my kids and  family. Just last week, I found myself multi-tasking and being on the phone with a Marketing Consultant and also breastfeeding at the same time. I wonder how many moms are also breastfeeding or doing something else while they are on the phone or the computer. The funny thing is, I’ve been improving on my “one had typing” since my son was born. Another important skill to have as a Mommy Entreprenuer.

Golden Curly Tail Officially Launches December 17, 2009!

December marks the birth of Golden Curly Tail (www.goldencurlytail.com), a new online webstore. On December 17th, 2009, Golden Curly Tail officially launched and is open for business. We are currently accepting orders online for our unique line of bamboo and organic cotton baby and toddler wear. A look at the Golden Curly Tail website and you will see that it is user friendly and offers an eco-friendly and affordable product.

The idea for Golden Curly Tail was inspired by the founders’ daughter, who was born during the year of the Golden Pig in  2007. The decision to launch the business in 2009, was propelled by the birth of the founders’ second child in late 2009.

Currently Golden Curly Tail offers 3 designs, each one making a unique fashion statement to the world.

Balancing work and play!

So, being a mommy and working on my business at home, brings joy to me. The days go by really quick, and before I know it, a whole afternoon has passed and still working on my to do list, but hey, at least I get to see my daughter change and grow. She’s at a phase, where she is talking and repeating alot of words we are saying. You can’t turn back time, so this time with her at 2 years old is precious. I feel very lucky.

Working from home… the biggest challenge is balance. Its a moment to moment challenge.

In addition to having my 2 year old daughter by my side while at work from home, I am also 38 weeks and 3 days pregnant. It could be any day now, when my son Nikola will be born. The timing could not have been more perfect, considering my partner and I are preparing to launch our dream business, Golden Curly Tail, an online organic baby clothing  store, inspired by our first born, who was born during the Year of the Golden Pig in 2007.

Bamboo Beginnings….

After having my daughter in 2007, I have been much more conscious of what she eats and what goes on her skin. Since she has excema. I’ve been on the search for the most natural fabric for her skin. When she was only a few months old, I went online and researched organic fabrics and then came upon the bamboo fibre. I then ordered a 100% bamboo towel from The Company Store, and fell in love with the fabric after that. The bamboo towel was so soft compared to a regular cotton towel, and plus it was good for my daughter’s skin as well as for the environment.

Ever since then, I’ve been reading everything I could get a hold of on bamboo and its benefits. This has become my new passion.

Countdown…..

….to the birth of my son and the launching of my new Website – Golden Curly Tail

A few more weeks until we’re ready to launch our Golden Curly Tail website. Its very exciting as we prepare to really do this. Its been a long time coming and now the dream of starting an online organic baby clothing webstore is only weeks away. This has truly been a  labor of love, a passion and a life changing experience, but I am loving every moment of it.

Funny how life happens the way it does, call it synchronicity, or whatever it is, but as we are preparing to launch this online store, Golden Curly Tail (GCT), I’m also 36 weeks pregnant, about to give birth between now and 4 weeks. Both are my babies, one being my son, Nikola, named after Nikola Tesla, the inventor and the other being my online business that my partner and I have been working on for the past 2 years or so.

Hello world!

Hi, as I embark on this new online venture, I’m excited to be alive and breathing in these current times. The daily struggle as a new mommy, striving to raise my daughter, who is 2 years old, and also being 7 1/2 months pregnant with my baby boy in my stomach is overwhelming and tiring a lot of times, but also filled with blessings, happiness and lots of love.

As I am writing this, I along with my partner am in the process of starting our own online organic baby clothing line business, scheduled to be launched by December 2009.

In 1991-1992, while still in High School, my friend Tom and I, along with many friends and our English Teacher, Ms. Chen started the Triple E (Environment, Ecology and Education) Club on campus. We initiated the first campus wide recycling program and organized Beach Cleanups and other activities, to bring awareness to the deterioration of the environment. It was a deep passion to save the environment, knowing that we as humans were responsible for the destruction as well as the well-being of our environment.

About 10 years ago, around 1998 or 1999, when the internet was just starting, I had thought about being an online entrepreneur, but at the time, I didn’t know anything about websites, and didn’t have a product or service to sell. I just knew I was interested in this whole new thing called the World Wide Web.

In 2007, when I was pregnant with my daughter, Yurika, the idea for an organic baby clothing line came to mind. She is our inspiration for the online webstore, Golden Curly Tail (GCT).

Golden Curly Tail is inspired by our little daughter, and all those babies born during the Year of the Golden Pig, 2007. They represent a new generation of leaders, artists, innovators and change makers, who are here to change the world. They represent what is possible and the possibilities are endless.
